Curvy Keepsake pumpkin patch

Pumpkin Patch time! This time I created a pumpin that is well fitted for a Thanksgiving table. The Curvy Keepsake Box Framelits are amazing. You can create these boxes in no time and these little guys are just the beginning of fun with the framelits. Today, we are celebrating pumpkins just because they are awesome! Can you believe that I have a pumpkin at my door from last year?!? Do you know why it lasted so long? Because pumpkins are awesome!
Enough with the awesomeness and let me show you the Curvy Keepsake Box Framelits.

It comes with one large die and three small tags. To make a box, you will need to cut out two of the large die images.

In my case, I wanted to add some texture to my pumpkin and I ran the cut out image thru the Woodgrain Embossing folder.

For the little curlies on top I used Cherry On Top Cotton Paper. It curls really nice and it easy to use.
And here is a video tutorial created just for you!

The beauty of partial die cutting

When I first saw this technique used on a cards I was in awe. I thought that the cards looked so amazing and classy and difficult to make....  Once you master this wonderful technique you will be able to use any framelit on it that you wish and you will be able to whip them up in no time.
I'm using the Love Label Framelits which since then have been retired but I absolutely cannot part with them. Old Olive cardstock and DSP as well as Melon Mambo  cardstock and Rich Razzleberry DSP are in action here.

I added some score lines on the left.... I think that they add a little something..

See how it's done!

Trees and presents and ribbon, oh my!

Fancy Foil Designer Vellum in action here and a reminder that in barely three months, it's Christmas! OK, I will control myself a little bit. The Holiday season is just so much fun with decorations, carols, amazing food, giant gingerbreads, cooler weather, family time... Am I forgetting something? Oh yes, the presents. Giving presents is the greatest thing of all! Do you like the ribbon I'm using? It matches perfectly with the vellum. It looks way better in real life than in the picture. Do you remember the post when I mentioned that I totally appreciate a good photographer.... which I am not...

Good, old oak

Lovely As A Tree set never, ever, ever gets old. Use it for birthday cards, fall cards, Thanksgiving cards or Holiday cards. Take a pick and you will be able to create a card with it for many occasions. Maybe that is a reason why it has been around for so many years.

Today I'm using Crumble cardstock with the Hardwood stamp. Love that stamp. It changes the entire cardstock in a split second and adds a totally different feel to the card. Circle Framelits were used to cut out the tree and the frame around it. If you wonder how I stamped the tree, yes, you guessed right, I used the markers: Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, Artichoke and Old Olive. Ribbons are a combination of what I found in my drawer, some Dusty Durango and Artichoke and Burlap.

Enjoy and keep on stamping!

Winter Wonderland DSP paper treat box

Have you seen Winter Wonderland DSP? Or the coordinating Winter Wonderland Designer Vellum Stack? Oh, the paper is just so pretty! Black and gold are  dominant colors and they are just so festive looking especially with the Gold Ribbon and Gold Cording String intermingled into the projects.

Today I'm making a gift box using the Winter Wonderland dsp paper and next week I will show you how to make the goodie bag pictured above.

Yes, you guessed, I did use the my wonderful Envelope Punch Board that has come in handy, oh so many times. I love that tool!
So how did I do it?
Use a 6 by 6 piece of paper. Score and punch at 2 and then 4. Repeat on all sides.
Well let me just show you how!

You have never used the Envelope Punch Board? No worries, here is how it works!

Cozy Christmas Holiday Card and Gift Card Holder

Love, love, love Merry Moments DSP! You can get the 12 by 12 sheets from the main catalog or the 6 by 6 dsp paper stack from the Holiday Mini. If you are looking for a variety of the Holiday paper you may opt for the Merry Moments from the main catalog as it has more designs available than our paper stack friend.

Today I used Cozy Christmas Stamp Set and Word Window Punch to make this Holiday card which also serves as a gift card holder. Found this idea on Pintrest and as usual had to make it because ... I just had to. This stamp set screamed "Holidays" to me. With the snow covered cabin in the woods, Santa and the reindeer flying thru the sky and  the saying "Have a Cozy Christmas" summarizes my idea of Christmas. The greetings are going to be perfect for the Holiday Tags and I will play with them in the upcoming weeks.

Ingredients:
Cozy Christmas Stamp Set
Word Window Punch
4 1/4 by 11 Cherry Cobbler, scored at 5 1/2 and 2 3/4
2 pieces of 2 5/8 by 4 Merry Moments DSP
2 3/4 by 4 White cardstock (optional - for writing the greeting)
2 1/4 by 2 White
2 1/2 by 2 1/4 Cherry Cobbler
3 by 2 3/4 Artichoke
1 by 2 1/2 Cherry Cobbler for the banner

Enjoy the video!

The best is yet to come

The best is to come! Yes, this is Hostess Best Thoughts along with the Polka Dot Embossing Folder on the Bermuda Bay cardstock. The rest is just playing with the designer series paper.

Don't worry if you don't have Banners Framelits. Although the framelits make life much easier, this is how you can create  pretty darn good banners without them.

Gorgeous Grunge tag topper card

As promised I'm showing you yet another way to use our wonderful Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. When I first saw this card I was confused as to how it was done. You think it's a breeze until you actually start working on it. Bless all the wonderful crafters that spend hours coming up with those brilliant ideas that I get to use! Well, let's get started!

What we are working with today are:
 Hardwood background stamp

I used 8 1/2 by 5 1/2 Pear Pizzas cardstock which I scored at 5 inches, along with Daffodil Delight, Watermelon, Pear Pizzas and Early Espresso inks. Twine for a little extra touch and Daffodil Delight ribbon to tie the card.
Well, anyways, take a moment to look thru the video.

Surprise Pop Up Card - Giftcard Holder

Fun, fun, fun!! That's all I'm going to say about this card! Tell me if there is anyone who will not smile when they pull on that tag!!

You can slip a gift card inside the tag pocket and it will pop out as you pull on the tag.

The card is not very complicated but you need to follow certain steps in the correct order. Other than that, it's a breeze, I tell you! See how YOU can master it in just 10 minutes!

Flowering Flourishes tile coasters

It feels great to be able to make gifts for people. Home made gifts are always close to my heart whether they are cards, jams, breads or.... tile coasters. The Holidays are approaching and with it a stress of coming up with gifts for your loved ones. I thought that the tile coaster idea is just fantastic and when I got the Flowering Flourishes stamp set I was hoping to be able to use it on tiles.  Stamping on tiles is very easy but you absolutely have to use Stazon ink. There is no way around it. Use your regular ink and you will have a smearing mess on your hands.

Make sure to put cork at the bottom of the tile or some felt for that matter. I picked these cork pieces at the 99 cent store.

Wrap it up and make it all pretty and voila, here is the gift for a friend!

And here is my attempt with the black Stazon ink.

I still cannot decide if I like brown or black better....

Enjoy!

Tag topper punch introduced

When you look at the Tag Topper Punch you think one thing: I will get to make tags, tags and tags! But of course that you will, however, this punch goes way beyond just simple tags. In the coming weeks I will show you how to use it on cards, boxes, book marks, candy wrappers and holiday tags. Make sure to stay tuned!

All you need is a cardstock that is 2 inches wide. You can decide on the length of your tag, slip it inside the punch and punch it out. There is nothing else to it.
But why bother explaining it when you can see it in action for yourself in the video below. You will fall in love with it!

Wetlands sun set

Are you catching yourself using SU colors while shopping for paint color for your bedroom? Are trying to decide if it should be Old Olive or Marina Mist? When you walk on the beach and see the little birds running around on the edge of the water, do you scream that they are the very same birds as the ones on the Wetlands set? It's a sign that you speak the Stampin Up language and it's not a bad thing at all!

Ingredients

Wetlands stamp set
Early Espresso cardstock and ink
Cajun Craze cardstock and ink
So Saffron cardstock
Burlap
Twine

I masked off the sun with a 1 1/4 circle punched out of cardstock and sponged around it. Yes, tons of sponging going on here but you need it to try to create a sunset. Over the years I have learned that you have to patient with sponging as it will make or break your card. Patience will be definitely rewarded. Enjoy!

Christmas in September - Vellum luminaries

Christmas in Septemberis is amazing! It simply means that I get to do Christmas crafts with still few more months to go before the Holidays chaos! It makes it stress free and totally fun. I saw these luminaries on Pintrest and had to make them. Are you surprised? How many times have you heard that!

I was trying really hard to capture the light with less than impressive results. It just makes me appreciate a good photographer behind a good camera. This is the best I was able to achieve with my little darling camera.

Supplies

Vellum (one sheet for a large luminary, or one sheet for two small ones)
Confetti punch
Embossing buddy
Embossing powder
Versamark
Your favorite stamp set : I used Lovely As A Tree, a Wish for Peace and a random snowflake stamp

You can get dimensions of the 3 and 4 inch luminaries in the video but should you wish to make a larger version, using one entire vellum sheet, here are your score marks:
On the 11 inch side score at 2 5/8, 5 1/4, 7 7/8 and 10 5/8.
On the 8 1/2 inch side score at 2 5/8.
Follow instructions in the video to complete the luminary.
