Brisket - the delicious one

I don't remember where I got this recipe from but it totally rocks. Actually, now that I think about it, it may be Paula Dean's because you use her House Seasoning mix in it. Depending on the size of your brisket it may take 4 hours to bake it so this is definitely a weekend recipe. The left over brisket can be used in my To-Dye-For Baked Beans for which the recipe will follow. You can also freeze it since it's just as good defrosted if you want a quick weekend lunch.

5-6 lb brisket
3 Tbsp House Seasoning (see below)
3 T Chili
1 1/2 tsp brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp onion powder
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp cayenne (optional)
Beef broth

House Seasoning:

1 cup salt
1/4 cup black pepper
1/4 cup garlic powder

Make dry rub (mix house seasoning, chili, sugar, onion powder, oregano and cayenne) the night before and massage it into the meat. Cover it in plastic wrap and put in the fridge overnight.
Put the brisket in the oven at 350 degrees for an hour.
Take it out and pour enough beef stock for it to be 1/2 inch from the bottom.
Lower the temperature to 300 degrees, cover the meat creating a nice beef broth bath and bake it anywhere from 2 to 4 hours depending on the size of the meat. Meat should be tender when done and almost falling apart.

Just Believe

I simply cannot get enough of this stamp set. I've been using it over and over and I'll post couple of other cards made with it. Here I used chocolate chip paper along with some poppy and stamped the flowers in pear pizzaz. Of course nothing would look finish without my some help of Cricut and Martha Steward butterfly punch.

Cinnabon Cinnamon Rolls

Wow, these are very close to the actual Cinnabon Cinnamon Rolls!! So absolutely delicious and to top it all, you probably already have everything to make them in your cupboard. The frosting is absolutely amazing too!

Allocate several hours for this delicious snack as you are dealing with the yeast dough which needs plenty of time to rise.

Penne jambalaya

This is a truly delicious recipe - if you like garlic (and lots of it) and food with some kick to it. I love Emeril's recipes for a simple fact that they actually taste good. He is using Essence in a lot of recipes and the Essence is pretty much essential in his dishes.  I usually double the Essence recipe when I make it and keep it in a jar so that I can sprinkle on whatever I wish, whenever I wish. It's a perfect combination of spices amazingly delicious on chicken, seafood or steak. Let me introduce you to one and only Penne Jambalaya.

Valentine Hearts!

A very happy New Year to you all!

Although quite a few of you made this card couple of years ago already, here is a kind reminder that Valentine's Day is approaching the we need to get in gear with card making.  Looking back at this card I thing I could have embossed the white background. What do you think? Apart from that, I still love it. Long live the Cricut and the Cuttlebug!
