Botanical Just For You

Ha, ha!! I could not resist and had to play with this stamp! Yes, I did some masking and stamping and masking and stamping and .... I like it! If you have not figured it out, I masked "you" with scotch tape and inked the stamp in black, then pulled off the tape and stamped "just for" in black. I then masked "just for" with scotch tape and inked "you" in Mint Macaron, pulled off the tape and stamped "you" on the side in Mint. I did not use Stamp-a-magic here but if I was making a bunch of these cards it would make your life much easier.

You probably recognize Botanical framelits and the Mint Macaron cardstock. Enjoy!

Picture Perfect is What I Love

You may recognize joy fold card right here. It's a simple technique which I made my own. I used Bermuda Bay for cardstock and added some dsp paper in the background. The bird form Picture Perfect is stamped in Smoky Slate, Bermuda Bay and Black. The flower from What I Love is in Watermelon. I also added Gorgeous Grudge in Smoky Slate on the flap. You know me, if I can squeeze Gorgeous Grunge somewhere on a card, I'm a happy camper. Hope you enjoy it!

Botanical Easter card

Hello there everyone!! Today I am using Botanical Builder Framelits and Suite Sayings Stamp set to create an Easter card. I'm using Pool Party for the base and vellum for the overlay. Flowers are cut out in white and Lost Lagoon.

What I love about the Suite Sayings set is the variety of greetings that you get. You can use it for thanks you, birthday, wedding, baby, graduation, Easter, Mother/Father's Day.... It really is a neat set. Check it out below.

See, I told you that it was super versatile!!! Enjoy!

Congratulations with a double Z fold

Hi everyone!! Today I am playing with the Going Places dsp from Occasions Catalog and the Sky Is the Limit stamp set from the Sal-e-bration. I'm calling this fold a double Z fold but I will allow you to come up with your own name for it. The main card is scored at 2 3/4 and 5 1/2 to achieve the big Z fold. The 1 by 8 1/2 strip is scored in the same place that being 2 3/4 and 5 1/2. You can probably figure out how it is put together when you look at the picture below.

Doesn't it display nicely?!? And I love the Lost Lagoon cardstock which is just so beautiful and which is going to be retired at the end of June and which is going to make me very, very sad. Oh well, moving on to real problems in the world! Enjoy!

Botanical Hooray!

I'm officially crazy about these die cuts! It seems that all I do is run them thru my Big Shot. The colors I'm using today are Watermelon, Daffodils Delight and Mellow Moss. The stamp set is a part of the Sale-a-Bration Perfect Pairings set which you can find in the Sal-e-Bration  catalog to the right.

Do you know what the best card of this card is? It is pretty AND very simple to put together. I just love it!

You Are In My Thoughts with blender pens

Hello there fellow stampers! Time for another day and another project! Today I'm using Best Thoughts hostess set which is oh, just so pretty, along with Gorgeous Grunge which  I try to squeeze into as many projects as possible.
The colors for the cardstock and ink are Mint Macaron and Tip Top Taupe. I used ink and blender pens to color the flower. Coloring just relaxes me so I was totally enjoying this card. I tell you, this is way cheaper than a day at a spa and just as effective (well, at least for me it is).
To see difference between Blender Pen and Aqua Painter, see my past post on this topic HERE . Enjoy!

Watercolor meadow pop out card

Water coloring is just so forgiving... You don't have to follow lines, you can overlap colors, miss certain spots and the picture still comes out fabulous.
Today I'm using In the Meadow from Occasions Catalog which I love, love, love.
As for the ingredients to make this card, well, here we go:

Old Olive : 8 1/2 by 5 1/2 scored at 2 1/8, 4 1/4 and 6 3/8, 5 1/4 by 4
Early Espresso: 8 1/2 by 5 1/2, 4 1/2 by 3 3/4
Watercolor paper: 5 by 4 scored at 2 1/2 (for the inside), 3 1/2 by 4 1/4
Ink: Black Stazon (need to use Stazon for watercolor), Old Olive, Marina Mist, Soft Suede

I stamped the images on water color paper with Stazon. And yes, you need to use Stazon, otherwise the ink will bleed when using water.  On the front image, I did mask the tree after I stamped it in order to stamp the mountains in the background. I used Aqua Painter to apply ink to the paper. I cannot tell you how fun it is. It makes you feel creative and the outcome will always amaze you. Oh yes, the greeting in the front  is from Picture Perfect.
Ok, moving to the inside. I cut out an oval right in the middle of the 8 1/2 by 5 1/2 and createe Early Espresso frame for it. I also stamped flowers and grass in Old Olive ink. Hope you have fun with the brush!

Botanical garden

No explanation necessary for this card! Simple, yet very pretty. If you don't recognize the greeting, it is from the Butterfly Basics set and the diecuts are  from the Botanical Garden bunch.

You will definitely need Big Shot Die Brush to get the cardstock out of the diecuts but the same applies to any intricate die cut set such as the butterfly from Butterfly Basics.

World Traveler embossing folder

What an awesome embossing folder! I just absolutely love it! I ran it on the Crumbcake cardstock and sponged with Sahara Sand. It's just so neat how the map just pops out  once you add the a little sponging to it. The stamp set is unknown but SU's Traveler set would be the most similar one to this one.

I roughed up the edges a bit  by running an old pair of scissors thru them and the folded corner exposes a little piece of Going Places dsp paper which I snack behind.
Oh yes, the compass is a part of the Open Sea set which is so dear to me and is my masculine card companion.
Guess where the greeting is from??? Sprinkles of Life!! It was absolutely perfect for my window punch!

Botanical garden flap card

I thought that the flap was a great idea for a little bit different card. You know that I'm always in search for some unusual folds and designs.

And here are the dimensions:
In Old Olive you will need 4 1/2 by 5 1/2 for the back, 2 1/4 by 4 5/8 for the flap (scored at 1/2), two pieces of 4 by 2 1/2.
In Whisper White you will need 4 by 5 1/4 for the back, and two pieces of 4 3/4 by 2 1/4.

And here is the inside! I got to use my Botanical stamp set! So exciting!
